Ammonium Sulphate 25kg
Ammonium Sulphate Technical Grade 25kg
Ammonium sulfate ((NH)SO) is primarily used as an acidifying fertilizer providing essential nitrogen and sulfur, especially for alkaline soils, but also serves as a flocculant, flame retardant, food additive (acidity regulator), water treatment chemical (with chlorine for disinfection), and in various industrial processes like protein purification or textile finishing.
Its valued for improving crop yields, soil pH, and aiding in chemical manufacturing due to its solubility and nutrient content. Ammonium Sulphate 25kg
Agricultural & Horticultural Uses
Fertilizer: Supplies nitrogen (21%) and sulfur, crucial for plant growth, especially for sulfur-deficient or alkaline soils (raising pH).
Soil Amendment: Helps improve soil structure and manage pH levels.
Herbicide Enhancer: Used with glyphosate to improve its effectiveness, especially in hard water.
Industrial & Chemical Uses
Flocculant: Causes solid particles in suspension (like in water treatment) to clump and settle.
Flame Retardant: Applied to textiles, paper, and wood to make them less flammable.
Chemical Manufacturing: Stabilizer for PVC, catalyst, and in producing dyes and other chemicals.
Textile Industry: Helps in dyeing and reducing static.
Food & Water Uses
Food Additive (E517): Acidity regulator, dough conditioner, and nutrient supplement in flours and breads (GRAS in the US).
Water Treatment: Combined with chlorine to form chloramine for disinfecting drinking water.
Other Uses
Pharmaceuticals: Aids in manufacturing certain drugs and for protein purification (fractional precipitation).
Livestock: Reduces ammonia odor in manure storage.
- The primary use of ammonium sulfate is as a fertilizer for alkaline soils.
- In the soil the ammonium ion is released and forms a small amount of acid,
- -lowering the pH balance of the soil, while contributing essential nitrogen for plant growth.
